Marine Corps Leadership

From 2002 to 2005, he returned to the School of Infantry-East as a Marine Corps Combat Instructor, where he trained more than 3,000 entry-level Marines in infantry combat skills during the height of operations supporting Iraq and Afghanistan.

He later continued serving the Marine Corps community as Director and Lead DVTE Simulations Analyst at School of Infantry-East, where he helped pioneer simulations-based training, instructional design, and military education technologies. He also founded the Advanced Infantry Training Battalion Simulations Center.

That chapter of his life strengthened the leadership, discipline, instructional skill, and mission focus that continue to influence his filmmaking and creative direction today.

The Police Officer

After serving in the United States Marine Corps, Bill continued his commitment to public service as a police officer in Jacksonville, North Carolina, and Surf City, North Carolina.

Law enforcement required calm under pressure, sound judgment, compassion, restraint, and resilience. It placed Bill in situations where people were often at their most vulnerable, most frightened, or most difficult. Those experiences gave him a deeper understanding of people, conflict, consequence, and the fragile line between order and chaos.

That perspective continues to influence his work as an actor, writer, producer, and filmmaker. The characters and stories he is drawn to are rarely simple. They reflect real people under stress, navigating fear, duty, guilt, loyalty, obsession, sacrifice, and redemption.

Some lessons about humanity are learned when people are at their very best. Others are learned when they are at their worst. Both shape the stories Bill chooses to tell.

The Philosophy

Every chapter prepared him to tell better stories.

Whether teaching martial arts, training Marines, performing illusions, serving communities, designing military learning experiences, or producing films, Bill believes meaningful stories do more than entertain.

They connect people. They challenge assumptions. They reveal character. They linger.

Through Skeleton in the Closet Productions, Bill continues pursuing stories that entertain audiences today while staying with them long after the screen fades to black.
